Behind the mask: COVID-19 Carers inside perspective.
Mr Nathan HowarthPadlet
An insiders perspective from healthcare assistant at a care home. COVID-19 has seen over 116,000 deaths in the UK, with the majority being centred around healthcare setting. Yet, the UK Government has focused the narrative on schools in recent weeks as a chain of transmission. The narrative neglects to consider the PPE crisis, staffing shortage and the undervaluation of the profession. The hidden costs on moral and the individuals is immeasurable. This presentation seeks to uncover the issues surrounding COVID-19 in care homes and touch upon the undervaluation of caring, the forgot skill which is not visible for the public.
